I was reading through all the old posts about FS Mobile and the synch issues. I am running a 2007 2.4GHz Macbook Pro w/ core 2 duo and 4gb ram running with Lion. I cant get this thing to synch up, My Mac does not even recognize it.
I have downloaded all the latest drivers and such. I have unplugged and replugged, but the blinking red and blue light never stops.
Presonus Firestudio Project Manual
I came across your post while desperately looking for some way to have my firewire Firestudio 26x26 working under Mac OS Sierra or High Sierra running on my MBP 15' early 2011. It was working very fine under Mac OS Yosemite (10.10) until I decided to upgrade to 10.13 to buy and install Logic Pro X 10.4. I bought a used FireStudio Project a couple of weeks ago, and it is working fine, except for one pretty big problem. Every time I disconnect and reconnect the device to my mac (2011 Mac Book Pro, version 10.7.5, 4gb memory), I have to completely reinstall the Universal Control software in order for Logic Pro 9 to be able to notice the device.
I cant seem to find anyone that has actually solved this issue or if they have they have not posted the solution. Is there possibly something I have overlooked? Please helpThanks! I can't believe you have a such a great product but don't stand by your customers when they have an issue. There's nothing in this post saying how to fix this problem and you seem to just give up on the issue instead of fixing the problem or have another link dedicated to this issue involving the Mac installation. You tell us how to uninstall the drivers your suppose to install so you can reinstall.
This make absolutely no sense whatsoever. Please add a detail Mac installation along with some trouble shooting links for future customers. I'm going to sell my firestudio mobile and go with something more compatible with the mac. You need to restructure your customer support. What an epic fail this product has been when dealing with installing on a Mac. Gadget69PresonificatorJoined: 03:56:19Messages: 5008Location: Northern MnOfflineHave you tried Tech support? But all i can get is the red/blue flashing firewire fail light. My macbook sees the firestudio in the audio setup menu.Cubase sees it in the device setup menu and I can select the outputs from there.BUT. No sound, no solid blue light firewire connection.Tried with the power adapter and without.Uninstalled latest drivers and rolled back to 1.6 for just Lion, still nothingFail.Has anybody gotten this device to work on a macbook pro?if so, what else can i try to get it to work???Thanks,Dan. When you uninstalled did you do a compleate uninstallWe did this the first time and it worked but it takes a long time to hunt down all the files presonus tell you to deleate.
It is a lot quicker for us to clone from a working one. Here we have discussed this with all the experts that work here and have come to the conclusion that the mac OS is corrupting a universal control critical file.Hope this helpsMusic studio. 20 x iMac 22' 3.06Ghz 4G RAM, OSX 10.6.3. 20 x Faderport, Firestudio Mobile, DT100, Oxygen 25. 20 x Studio One Pro 2, Cubase 6, Logic Pro 9.Recording Studio. 2 x StudioLive 16.4.2 linked. Sort of.About a week after upgrading to Mavericks my mobile died the same fate as the others in this link. I tried a few things, but what brought it back was clearing the PRAM in my Mac Book Pro. Now Logic X Pro, Studio One Pro and iTunes seem to work fine, my problem is with Quick Time and WEB sites that use QT for audio. Audio is all garbled when trying to play through the FS Mobile, but works fine through the built in speakers.
I don't think this is a FS Mobile problem because users of other Fire Wire audio interfaces are experiencing the same issues. It looks like Mavericks may have broken something in the Fire Wire drivers. Not sure if this would be part of the reason all these Mobiles suddenly stopped workingMacBook Pro 17', i7, 8Gig, 7200rpm HDDStudioLive 24.4.2, Firestudio Mobile, FaderportStudio One Pro, Capture, Logic Pro XRode NT2-A, Shure Beta52, SM57's, SM58'sSennheiser e614'sTascam VL-A5 MonitorsIPAD2, iPhone 4S».
Hi!I posted a more or less similar question not that long ago but it doesn't seem to appear anywhere.I have a presonus firestudio project and since I have updated to Mojave, non of the input are working. I can listen to anything on it, the output work but I can't record anything. It's a big issue for me because I play live with Ableton and synths/groovebox.
If anyone can help, that would be great. If not I guess I'll have to restore my macbook pro to high sierra but it would kind of suck.Thank you!Cheers! Here's what worked for me on getting it to work under Mojave.1. If you've installed Universal Controller, uninstall it.2. Restart again but this time:a. Boot to Recovery OS by restarting your machine and holding down the Command and R keys at startup.b.
Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.c. Enter the following command:csrutil disable4. Reinstall Universal Controller (once installed, the driver should read the correct revision # and all should work correctly)-Thoughts: It seems like Apple's System Integrity Protection feature is interfering with the KEXT (Kernal Extension/s) that are needed for the drivers to be installed and function correctly. As such, this feature has to be disabled by the above steps to allow for proper installation.-Once installed you can always re-enable System Integrity Protection by doing the following:a. Boot to Recovery OS by restarting your machine and holding down the Command and R keys at startup.b. Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.c.
Enter the following command:csrutil enable.
